Recently, a company specializing in manufacturing fitness equipment called MIRROR has launched the one-to-one-set packages (a teacher, a student or one-on-one personal training) for the “Mirror” smart device.
With these one-to-one training packages, you can chat, track exercises and receive reviews and advice from coaches directly through the built-in two-way camera and audio system. Besides, you are free to choose a coach based on your favorite exercises (yoga, strength training, cardio, pilates, boxing, barre), training time, training style and training schedule.
To experience such a 1-to-1 session, you will have to spend about 40 USD for a 30-minute training session. This is really not a “soft” price for Vietnamese users. In addition, if you spend an additional 39 USD/month, you can choose to follow more than 70 online training sessions in a week.
After a year of launching, MIRROR “magic mirror” has become one of the most popular fitness equipment in the world. 130cm tall and 56cm wide, MIRROR looks like a normal full-body mirror. However, behind the normal appearance is a 40-inch vertical screen with Full HD resolution and a 4-pin processor chip.
At the corner of MIRROR is a built-in 5 MP (megapixel) camera with 20W dual speaker system and 1 omnidirectional microphone and Wifi, Bluetooth connection to support the interaction between the trainee and the coach in the 1-1 session. When you exercise, the MIRROR screen will display details such as difficulty of the exercise, selection of guides, tools to use, time, pace, calories burned, beat rate heart and the number of people practicing with you.
MIRROR helps you to both follow the coach’s movements, and you can look at yourself in the mirror to adjust the posture accordingly. To make the session more interesting, you can log in to your Spotify account to play the music, increase excitement when practicing.
In addition to the price of 1,495 USD, MIRROR also has limitations when it is not a thermal touch screen and only integrates with devices running on iOS operating system. In return, after buying MIRROR, you will be given 6 elastic bands, heart rate bracelets, camera cover and mirror cleaning kit.
The CEO of MIRROR is a familiar name in America’s gym village, Brynn Putnam. A former alumni of Harvard University, Ms. Brynn was once in the list of Top 30 most successful people under 30 years old by INC magazine. Prior to founding and running MIRROR, Brynn founded a chain of gyms in New York City.
