In a recent interview, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s CEO, said the company had planned a business development strategy in the past two years. He believes that next year Huawei will rise to the top in the smartphone market.
According to sources, Huawei has invested more than $ 5 billion in R&D (Research and Development) and hopes that the company will take the top position next year. Besides, the company also aims to achieve sales revenue in 2023 of 150 billion USD.
Yu Chengdong said Huawei is surpassing Apple and Samsung in many developed countries to become the leader in the smartphone market. He said that in the Chinese market, one out of every three smartphones will be Huawei. Expected this year, if there are two smartphones sold, one will be Huawei.
He added that this year (2019) is called the first year of 5G network technology. It is still under construction and will be more complete next year. Therefore, this year’s revenue is still based on 4G smartphones. Huawei is also one of the few companies capable of designing 5G chips, typically earlier this year Huawei released a Baron 5000 chip.
On some recent articles, Apple also wants Huawei to produce 5G chips for them and received “nod” from Yu Chengdong. However, Huawei’s CEO stresses that the US government is currently making it difficult for Huawei, so if Apple wants to get Huawei’s 5G chip, it will have to face big obstacles.
Huawei confirmed that Huawei Mate 20 X will have a 5G version and it will be released later this year. However, the company did not disclose changes in the new version. Accordingly, the 5G version will continue to retain the 7.2 inch screen but it will have significantly smaller capacity battery, only 4,200 mAh, compared to 5,000 mAh on the standard Mate 20 X version. The good news is that the 5G version will come with Huawei’s SuperCharge 40W fast charging technology.
